A Little Preview of Gabby + Matt’s Smoky Mountain Wedding

Before getting into their wedding day from beginning to end, here are a few favorite moments from Gabby and Matt’s intimate Smoky Mountain celebration.

From quiet getting-ready moments and mountain views to their ceremony at Hearthside at the Preserve and portraits along Foothills Parkway, their day had such a relaxed, warm feeling from beginning to end.

Getting Ready in a Cabin at Hearthside at the Preserve

Gabby and Matt started their wedding day in a cabin just a few minutes from their ceremony location at Hearthside at the Preserve in Sevierville, Tennessee.

Hearthside at the Preserve is located in the Wears Valley area of the Smoky Mountains and is made up of mountain cabins surrounded by beautiful views. Having their getting-ready location so close to the ceremony made the beginning of the day especially easy — no long drive between locations and plenty of time for the smaller moments before everything officially began.

Gabby spent the morning getting ready inside the cabin, surrounded by family, while Matt got ready there as well. We photographed her dress, jewelry, shoes, bouquet and other wedding details before moving into the final getting-ready moments with her mom.

The cabin setting was also a perfect introduction to the day. Even before arriving at the ceremony, the Smoky Mountains already felt like part of the story.

An Intimate Wedding at Hearthside at the Preserve

Located in the Wears Valley area of Sevierville, Hearthside at the Preserve is surrounded by some of the scenery that makes Smoky Mountain weddings so special. The mountain views created a beautiful backdrop for Gabby and Matt’s intimate celebration without taking away from the quiet, personal feeling of the day.

Their ceremony was shared with the people closest to them, which gave the entire wedding a relaxed atmosphere. There was no need for the day to feel overly complicated or staged. It simply felt like them.

The green and gold details also fit beautifully with the surrounding landscape and warm mountain setting.

Smoky Mountain Wedding Portraits in Sevierville

After the ceremony, we slipped away for portraits with the Smoky Mountains stretching behind them.

These ended up being some of my favorite photographs from the day.

Rather than forcing every moment into a pose, we kept things relaxed and let Gabby and Matt enjoy a little time together while taking in the mountain views. The result was a mix of natural portraits, movement, and quiet moments that still felt polished while staying true to who they are.

Their wedding was such a beautiful reminder that an intimate celebration can feel every bit as meaningful and unforgettable as a large wedding.
